What is Postpartum Midwifery Care?
Bay Postpartum Midwife offers full postpartum and newborn care during the first six weeks after your hospital birth. Home visits are thoughtful and unhurried — there's room to ask every question, process your birth experience, and get the hands-on support your whole family deserves.
Care includes:
Postpartum assessment — physical recovery, suture healing and care, mood and emotional wellbeing, and more
Newborn care — weight checks, jaundice monitoring, feeding support (breast and bottle), and newborn exams
Ongoing visits through the first six weeks — so you're supported as your baby grows and your body heals

Hi, I'm El, a licensed midwife and the founder of Bay Postpartum Midwife. For eight years, I ran Emunah Midwifery — a home birth practice where I had the profound privilege of attending births across the Bay Area and witnessing the magic and mystery of pregnancy and labor.
I’ve transitioned to focusing exclusively on postpartum care — because the weeks after birth are so often where families most need support, and where our healthcare system most often falls short.
Bay Postpartum Midwife carries everything I learned through those eight years: deep respect for the birthing body, genuine curiosity about each family's experience, and a commitment to showing up fully for the people in my care. In many ways, my goal is to bring the home birth model of midwifery care to families who are recovering after a hospital birth.
